The Grandma Days

When I was younger I dreamt about when I’d be a grandma someday. Grandparents were always sure to tell me that those are the best days. I so looked forward to spoiling my grandkids. However, now as a mother of four little kids, I think about the days ahead when I am a grandmother, and I cannot begin to imagine how it could be any sweeter than the times I am currently in. How in early mornings our three year old will sneak into our bed for cuddles and giggles. How our one year old and I have a secret gesture that, when cued, he will run as fast as his little legs will carry him, and he’ll leap into my arms. How I get to watch the girls grow in their reading, writing and arithmetic skills on a daily basis. How the days are filled with endless stories and baking and messes and dance parties and books and cuddles.

I’m sure being a grandparent is so very sweet, and I am really cherishing these days of knowing these little ones inside and out.
