After months of prodding, I finally gave in. Chelsea has asked for every animal under the sun, but in Spring 2021, we couldn’t escape the cute baby chicks at Tractor Supply. Although we found a private breeder in East Texas, the farm and ranch supply store that we visit periodically had all of the supplies (and animals) prominently displayed. We ultimately bought 10 chickens. I call them designer chickens because they are both beautiful and make an array of colorful eggs.
K has been quite the helper – even helping construct the chicken coop, gather eggs, work on the yard, and talk to the “girls.”
